Ben James is the CEO & Founder of the 3D generative AI platform Atlas (atlas.design).
Ben graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC and worked as a strategy consultant in NYC and London prior to getting his Architecture Master’s degree from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna studying under Greg Lynn. As a practising architect, he has lectured and exhibited works in notable museums and galleries around the world such as the Architectural Association visiting school in China, the A+D Museum in LA, the Storefront for Art & Architecture in NYC, the MAK Museum in Vienna, and the Architecture Biennale in Tallinn.
Ben's work focuses on the intersection of design and technology. He founded Atlas in 2021 to develop AI that augments and focuses designers’ creativity, with an emphasis on virtual world-building. Atlas has received multiple highly competitive EU grants dedicated toward Trustworthy AI; Atlas works with industry leaders across Gaming, Film/VFX and web3; and Atlas has won multiple awards including Cyber Valley's prestigious 'most innovative AI solution within gaming'.
