The discipline of architecture and its place within the academic environment are constantly confronted by the need for change and by the repetition of universal doubts and insecurities. The aims of the studio are to ceaselessly explore new design methods and architectural strategies, investigate the duality of the terms “architecture” and “ambience”, and revise architectural thinking to reflect new beginnings. The development of computational technologies and the digitization of architectural tools have radically influenced architectural practice and architectural research. New design tools and fabrication technologies transform the discipline and require a larger role for experimentation, testing, prototyping and development. Studio Architecture III led by Imro Vaško and Shota Tsikoliya is focused on this digital / post-digital transformation of the field and explores its technological and aesthetical consequences.
